Envitech was appointed by Interwaste Environmental Solutions to carry out third party, independent, Electrical Leak Location testing on the newly lined phase 4A area. The area tested was approximately 24 000m2. The lining system included a Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), a 2mm HDPE (smooth and textured), a 1000g/m2 protection geotextile and a 150mm stone drainage layer. A network of pipes was laid above the 2mm HDPE layer as a leachate collection system. The lining layers were anchored in trenches around the perimeter of the Cell. The side slopes were approximately 1V:4H.

Envitech was responsible for carrying out the ELL / dipole survey and providing the Client with a report of the findings. The key features of the project included the following:
